The Rhinoplasty Clinic Pte Ltd.

What are the possible risks and complications of rhinoplasty?

The rhinoplasty risks include

  • Anesthesia risks, infection and nasal contraction
  • Skin necrosis & Sinusitis
  • Bleeding & Scarring
  • Implant extrusion / migration
  • Nasal collapse/ Nasal obstruction/ Nasal Swelling
  • Persistent pain and Skin & teeth numbness
  • Septal perforation
  • Eye injuries, excessive tearing
  • Inadequate nasal appearance

That sounds like a very long list!

Yes, but to put things into perspective, most of them are very low risk (in the order of <1%), while others are transient and recover with time. On the other hand, complications like infection, implant extrusion and nasal collapse are real risks with serious consequences, though their incidence may not be high (1-10%). It is impossible to eliminate all risk, but you can improve your chances and outcome if you choose your surgeon wisely.
